One of the most respected country clubs in Northern California, Marin Country Club owes its reputation not only to consistent fine dining, but to its well-known par 72 golf course. Designed by John Harbottle, the newly renovated course boasts new irrigation, drainage, bunkers and greens. Work was just completed on April 22, 2008 when we opened the course to an enthusiastic membership. The course has been home to the 1993 U.S. Open Championship qualification tournament, the 2004 U.S. Amateur Qualifying Championship, and most recently the 2008 U.S. Open Senior Amateur Qualifying Tournament.
A creek, water hazards and natural barriers virtually eliminate parallel fairways, providing beauty, challenge and excitement. A natural grass practice facility complete with simulated course layout, target greens and practice bunkers support the serious golfer's needs, along with lessons from the Club's Class-A PGA Golf Professional and a fully equipped Golf Shop. In addition, we installed a state-of-the art computerized indoor-outdoor teaching facility located on the driving range.
Located in a valley of great natural beauty, the course has been augmented by years of careful grooming and thoughtful improvements. New cart paths were added within the last few years, old wooden bridges have been replaced with beautiful stone structures and a large lake provides refreshing vistas from most of the course and also a water hazard challenge.
